Stone Mountain Park

The most popular attraction in Georgia, Stone Mountain Park takes its name from a massive chunk of exposed granite that towers hundreds of feet above its surroundings and covers more than 580 acres. Among the stars of Stone Mountain Park is a three-acre sculpture of three Confederate leaders — Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee and "Stonewall" Jackson — carved into the side of the mountain. For a closer look at the Memorial Carving, visitors to Stone Mountain Park Georgia can ride a skylift to the top of the mountain. Those lucky enough to visit during spring, summer or fall may enjoy Stone Mountain Park's nightly Lasershow Spectacular, which shines off the side of the mountain.

With over 3,200 acres of natural beauty, the Park is a unique and fun destination where families and friends can enjoy the outdoors together, while experiencing an exciting variety of attractions, entertainment and recreation.  Visitors will travel back in time to the town of Crossroads®, where they’ll meet fascinating townsfolk and skilled crafters who will show them what life may have been like in an 1870s Southern town. Crossroads includes the Camp Highland Outpost, the Treehouse Challenge – Atlanta’s Ultimate Kids’ Adventure, Tall Tales of the South® -Georgia’s first 4D theater, The Great Barn® - Atlanta’s largest children’s indoor play experience and live shows & entertainment.  Other favorite attractions include: the Summit Skyride to the top of Stone Mountain, the Scenic Railroad, the Scarlett O’Hara Paddlewheel Riverboat, the Antebellum Plantation & Farmyard, the Antique Car & Treasure Museum and Discovering Stone Mountain Museum at Memorial Hall and the Great Locomotive Chase Adventure Golf.  Guests will also enjoy the Ride the Ducks™ sightseeing adventure, unique shopping, great dining, 2 championship golf courses, Marriott hotels, a beautiful campground and more!

Stone Mountain Park Georgia is located approximately 16 miles east of Atlanta. The park is open year-round and closes only on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Park gates open from 6 a.m. till 12 midnight daily. Some attractions are seasonal, with most closing for scheduled maintenance during January and February. Operating hours for the individual attractions generally begin at 10 a.m. Closing times vary by season.
