Houmas House Plantation and Gardens
The Houmas House Plantation and Gardens is filled with period antiques and Louisiana artwork. Kevin Keller, a successful businessman and preservationist, recreated that classic feel of the property circa 1840. Guided tours through the 16 restored rooms at Houmas House present a spectacular experience, enlightening guests of Louisiana past life. Visitors can visit the central hallway, and admire the room-size mural that brings to life original entryway artwork found on plantations along Mississippi river.
Also, the immense, circular fountain that decorates the backyard of the Houmas House Plantation, illuminates the house as the evening settles in. The 12-acre Gardens of the Houmas House collaborates in showing off the grandeur of the estate with its season-changing plantation. The Houmas House Plantation and Gardens demands appreciation and hopes to show itself off with you as its guest.
