Prime Retail, Inc. a self-adminstered, self-managed real estate investment trust (REIT), and is one of the world's largest developer, owner, and manager of outlet centers.
The company's current portfolio includes 32 outlet centers in 20 states and Puerto Rico totaling approximately 9.4 million square feet of gross leasable area. Based in Baltimore, Maryland, the company has been a developer of retail and factory outlet centers since 1988 and completed it initial public offering in 1994.
In June 1998, Prime Retail merged with Horizon Group, integrating 22 of Horizon's outlet centers into its portfolio.
