The Hopewell Twinning Association is now more than 65 members strong. Nearly seven years since that first letter to Ashford, the twinning relationship between the two cities has been deemed a resounding success by both twinning associations and the press on both sides of the Atlantic.

And now that relationship has received the full endorsement of the Ashford Borough Council and the Hopewell City Council. The way is paved for other exchanges – personal, public and economic – as the twin cities of different countries enter the new millennium together.
