Northwest Arkansas is home to some incredible art experiences. The newest is The Momentary, a contemporary arts venue that opened early this year in Bentonville.
An extension of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, which has had nearly four million visitors since it opened in 2011, The Momentary is a multidisciplinary space for visual, performing and culinary arts as well as an artist residency program. It contains galleries, studio space for artists, a small black box theater, kitchen, cafe, rooftop bar and flexible indoor gathering areas as well as an outdoor space for concerts, festivals and community events.
The Momentary adds new and complementary offerings to Crystal Bridges by extending the story of contemporary art right up to the moment. Basically, it picks up where Crystal Bridges leaves off. Crystal Bridges houses a permanent collection of American art masterworks from the Colonial era to modern day and touring collections from national art institutions.
The Momentary is open with reduced capacity, and there are outdoor and online exhibits and activities available.
